Pre-Apprenticeship Program

The Pre-Apprenticeship Program is a pre-requisite for the PowerHouse Apprenticeship course designed to get new apprentices ready for the jobsite by focusing on basic electrical skills.

This two-week training program is worked into the PowerHouse’s accreditation hours that count towards graduation. All students will start year one with the Pre-Apprenticeship Program and is offered throughout the school year for new hires at Magnum Electric. This allows us to set our students up for success right from the beginning.

Journeyman Prep Course

Journeyman prep courses (or private study sessions) are offered by appointment at no expense to Magnum Electric employees/apprentices. Apprentices must have a test date scheduled to qualify for this service.

Continued Ed

Monthly Continuing Education courses are offered at the PowerHouse all year for Magnum Electric employees to renew their license without the stress/cost associated with finding a local or online seminar. In-person classes are offered as well as webinar (zoom) live.

ND Licensing Requirements

The North Dakota State Electrical Board requires completion of 8,000 hours experience in electrical wiring, along with 576 hours of training classes in order to pursue licensing as a journeyman electrician.
