A lot has changed over the last 10+ years in technology, culture, and the trade industry, yet most of the educational system has remained unchanged. With America’s labor shortage in electricians, there is an undeniable need to innovate and modernize the educational system to inspire students to learn the trade. Magnum Electric’s solution was to create and build its own in-house educational program called the “PowerHouse”.

Take daytime classes in our leading-edge facility with no tuition costs! In our house, students are not just another number to keep enrollment up. The Powerhouse offers a unique community of dedicated professionals who want to see you succeed and advance in your career.
With Magnum Electric’s resources, there is a variety of work opportunities available to experience. Projects vary from residential, commercial, industrial, to service. Additionally, the option to travel with jobsites spread throughout the United States.
Courses
Pre-Apprenticeship Program
Two week, full-time program to get new students up to speed with operating successfully on a jobsite as an apprentice electrician. All students will start year one with the Pre-Apprenticeship Program to be set up for success when beginning the PowerHouse Apprenticeship Program.
Apprenticeship Program
Four year program where students are paid to attend with hands-on/in person training to become an Apprentice Electrician. Daytime schedules totaling 16 hours/month in class. Class sizes cap at 20 students/year for a personalized learning experience and ample opportunity for active participation.
Journeyman Prep Course
Journeyman prep courses (or private study sessions) are offered by appointment at no expense to Magnum Electric employees/apprentices. Apprentices must have a test date scheduled to qualify for this service.
Continued Ed
Monthly Continuing Education courses are offered at the PowerHouse all year for Magnum Electric employees to renew their license without the stress/cost associated with finding a local or online seminar. In-person classes are offered as well as webinar (zoom) live.

Powerhouse Application
Applications for Fall 2025 will be accepted until March 1st, 2025. The application review process includes an aptitude test and interview. Test dates will be sent to the email filled out in the form. GED/HS Diploma required by start of school year. Please note applying does not guarantee a job or acceptance to the PowerHouse.
